Exchange with Sinn Fein
Posted by Admin
I replied to it as below. I could’ve said a lot more, but there’s no point in sending them a tirade of abuse (which was what was going through my head when I opened their email!) or trying to convince them of the error of their ways.
Here is my response; below that is their original email (I guess I got it because at some point I read AP/RN on-line or I ordered something from their on-line shop):
To: New Sinn Fein
I received your email with interest.
Since Sinn Fein has abandoned not only socialism but also, eventually, republicanism, I will not be taking up your offer to become an on-line supporter of New Sinn Fein.
Instead, I have joined Clann éirígí as I wish to give my support to the struggle for a 32-county socialist republic.
The Provisional leadership, or the main part of it, opted for an internal settlement in the north and is helping the Brits in running the six-county state, including administering capitalist austerity and hobnobbing with the parasites who sit atop the British state apparatus. The (mis)leadership is also preparing itself for a role in administering the 26-county state, playing a role in relation to Fianna Fail similar to the role played by the rotten Labour Party in relation to Fine Gael. That role will, as in the north, involve imposing austerity while attempting to justify why the working class should pay for a crisis not of our making.
What a gloomy scenario. What a tragedy that Sinn Fein has turned into everything that it used to loath.
Happily, it hasn’t taken an entire generation for resistance to begin anew. Éirígí and other socialist-republicans have emerged and stepped into the breach. They may not have the kind of funding, numbers and support that SF has – as of yet! – but they have the principles that the Provisionals have thrown away in order to be part of the gombeen establishment on both sides of Britain’s border in Ireland. And, eventually, principles triumph.

This exciting new addition to Sinn Féin’s website gives you a way to channel your energy, your passion and your ideas by engaging directly with Sinn Féin as we join together as part of an ever growing grassroots community to make 2014 a year of profound change. Please join with us.
In the elections in 2 weeks Sinn Féin will be standing 350 candidates in the Local Government elections and in each of the 4 EU constituencies in every part of this island. For the first time ever, every voter, in every county council on this island will have the opportunity to vote for Sinn Féin.
Every Sinn Féin Councillor will be a committed voice for their community, putting the people’s interests at the heart of local government. Sinn Féin MEPs will not be ‘yes men’ or ‘yes women’ in the EU. We have had enough of that. They will be Irish representatives in the EU, not EU representatives in Ireland.
Your vote is important as we seek to build political strength and achieve even greater change. In the forthcoming elections vote Sinn Féin. Give us a mandate that will allow our Councillors and MEP’s to deliver for you locally and nationally.
Gerry Adams TD
Sinn Féin President
