Greek elections

The Greek elections have resulted in a massive surge in support for the hard left, with the Coalition of the Radical Left gaining nearly 17% of the vote and coming second.  The Coalition comprises Trotskyists, Maoists, radical Greens, left social-democrats and independent leftists.

I won’t be running stuff on Greece here, as this is a strictly Irish blog.  However, I’m involved in the New Zealand-based blog Redline, which covers a much wider range of stuff.  Redline have received a statement from the KOE (Communist Organisation of Greece), one of the main components of the Coalition and who now have three MPs.  The statement can be read on Redline at:

Redline also has a substantial background piece, from February: Greek lessons – in four parts.
